99 Tdi Ghia X - Underseat Relay

Again i have the above vehicle.

 

There is a relay under the driver seat.

 

I can find no mention of this or its function.

 

My issue is that it intermittently goes off.

 

I can't see anything failing on the car.

 

But it's like morse code every now and again

Theres mention of a relay  under the front right seat in the sharan fitting manual that says the following

 

"Relay locations on additional relay carrier under
front right seat:

wheres the 2nd battery supposed to be

I cant see any heater controls in the back

under the passenger seat as far as i know?

 

If you have the top end booster heater system i think its controlled from the clock?

Just checked this.

 

I have no dial above the passenger rear door and no controls in the clock.

 

It just gets stranger

is ther a reason it would go off intermittently?

Central locking is fine

could be a short in the wires if its the locking etc effected (the boot gaiter would be suspect for this) - best bet to find out what it controls is pull the relay out of the socket and see what doesn't work?
